Fight Jam holds Chicago’s only donation based monthly Stage Combat Jam Session for actors, choreographers, and fighters.
We are currently holding our monthly Jams at:
3036 N. Lincoln Ave (2nd Floor)
Chicago, IL 60657
Fight Jam explores different combat and weapons styles and the ways in which we, as artists, can incorporate such on stage. All of our presenters are experts in their fields, and we take measures to ensure a safe learning and working environment. Previous Jams have covered everything from Contemporary Violence, to Apache Dance Fighting, Shotokan Karate, Stage Gun Safety and Handling, Fighting Women!, Super Hero Showdown (Character Work), Choreography Choices, and even Wushu with Mortal Kombat’s Johnny Cage, Dan Pessina!

Is Fight Jam For You?
Yes. We structure our Jam sessions to accommodate a wide range of experience levels, from someone encountering their first fight, to choreographers with years of experience looking to work out a concept.
Including many levels of experience allows choreographers a chance to come work with a pool of fighters, and new and old fighters a chance to learn technique and style from a myriad of choreographers while everyone is introduced to a concept by the presenter. This mix also allows us to train, hone, and explore new options, techniques, and ideas in ways that a traditional class could not, to learn and challenge everyone on their own level, and we manage to do it all while having a blast!
